Sample Essay
As is vividly depicted in the drawing, two tourists are enjoying a boat trip on a lake. However, one of them is casually throwing a plastic bottle into the water. Shockingly, the surface of the river behind the boat is heavily littered with discarded trash, such as plastic bags and empty bottles. The caption below reads: "The remains of a journey."
The metaphorical meaning of this picture is profound: it ironically highlights the severe problem of environmental pollution caused by uncivilized behavior in tourism. With the improvement of living standards, an increasing number of people choose to travel for relaxation. Unfortunately, some tourists lack basic environmental awareness. They leave their garbage behind, which not only ruins the beautiful natural scenery but also poses a great threat to the local ecosystem. This phenomenon essentially reflects a lack of public morality.
In my opinion, immediate measures must be taken to curb this negative trend. On the one hand, relevant authorities should enact stricter laws and impose heavy fines on such irresponsible behavior. On the other hand, mass media should launch campaigns to educate the public about the importance of environmental protection. Only when everyone takes responsibility for their actions can we enjoy a beautiful and clean environment.
