Sample Essay
As is vividly depicted in the drawing, two people are climbing a steep mountain. Having reached the midway point, one of them sits on the steps, looking exhausted and discouraged, and sighs, "I am tired, and I want to quit." However, his companion remains energetic and encourages him patiently, "Don't give up! Just take a break and then keep on climbing." The caption below reads: "On the way."
The metaphorical meaning of this picture is profound: it highlights the significance of perseverance and persistence in achieving one's goals. In the journey of life, we inevitably encounter various obstacles and hardships. Many people are tempted to quit when they are just a few steps away from success because of physical fatigue or psychological barriers. However, the crucial difference between success and failure often lies in the "last mile." Only those who can overcome their inner weakness and persist until the end can eventually reach the summit of their lives.
In my opinion, it is essential for us to cultivate a strong will when facing hardships. On the one hand, we should realize that rest is for a better start, but it should never be an excuse for giving up. On the other hand, we should maintain an optimistic mindset and support each other during difficult times. Just as the saying goes, "Victory belongs to the most persevering." Only by keeping on climbing can we enjoy the most beautiful scenery at the top.
