Sample Essay
As is vividly depicted in the drawing, a university course selection interface is presented to students. Two different types of courses are available. The one on the left is labeled as "guaranteeing high grades, easy to pass, offering new knowledge, and requiring less homework." The one on the right, however, is characterized as "focusing on innovation and being challenging." The caption below reads, "Course selection is underway."
The metaphorical meaning of this picture is profound: it reflects the different attitudes of college students towards learning and challenges. Nowadays, driven by utilitarianism, some students tend to choose easy courses just to get higher GPAs with less effort. However, this shortsighted choice deprives them of the opportunity to develop critical thinking and innovative capabilities. True education is not about taking shortcuts, but about pushing one's limits and acquiring genuine skills.
In my opinion, college students should adopt a correct attitude towards their academic pursuits. On the one hand, universities should provide more guidance to help students realize the importance of challenging themselves. On the other hand, students should step out of their comfort zones and choose courses that are truly beneficial to their long-term development. Only by embracing challenges can we achieve real success in the future.
